The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners is made up of three non-partisan, full-time Commissioners who are elected to six-year terms on a rotating basis.
Mission:
The mission of the Jefferson County Commission is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of the county, see to the day-to-day operations of the county's affairs and to prepare and manage the annual budget and set and levy taxes.
The Commissioner's offices are located in the Courthouse annex building, directly south of the Courthouse. Often the Commissioners are out of the office on business, in their own Commission District serving the people there, or attending one of the many meetings that they participate in. The Commission is in session each Tuesday at 1:30 in the Court Room of the Courthouse,(second floor) where all official business is conducted. The agenda for these meetings is posted in the Town Hall in Boulder and Whitehall, the Boulder and Whitehall libraries, at the Post Offices in Whitehall, Boulder, Clancy and Montana City, and on the bulletin boards in the main Courthouse, Annex and Sheriff's Office. On Tuesdays at 10:00, there is a meeting with the road/solid waste supervisor in the Commission office.
Commissioner Weber is in Whitehall at the Jefferson County Public Health Office (7 E. Legion) from 8:00 am until 10:00 am the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mondays of each month. You may call for an appointment, 287-3036.
