Would you like to visit the
Jefferson County Museum in Clancy? Clancy is located just off of
Interstate 15. If you are heading north from Butte, take the Clancy
exit. Brown M signs point you in the right direction. At the
bottom of the exit ramp, make a left and look for the museum signs.
If you are coming south from Helena, take the Clancy exit. Brown M
signs lead you to the bottom of the exit ramp. Make a right and look
for the museum signs to take you to the museum. In keeping with the Jefferson County theme, the museum collects and displays items pertaining to Jefferson County. The museum is housed in the 1898 Clancy Schoolhouse and the pressed brass ceilings and decorative crown molding add to the historical ambiance of the artifacts. Permanent displays like a late 19th century schoolroom, hand built frontier town and wind up phonograph are in place for viewing. The museum will periodically offer lecture and slide programs for both children and adults throughout the summer. |
